- Uninspected meat sold as inspected meat, false organic claims, false registration claims, or false certifications.
- Animals with hidden illness, dangerous temperament, known defects, or transport restrictions that are not disclosed.
- Listings that encourage unsafe handling, illegal slaughter/resale, harassment, scams, or payment fraud.
Seller Responsibilities

- Use accurate labels, weights, dates, prices, photos, and records.
- Remove, pause, or mark listings sold when they are no longer available.
- Respond honestly to buyer questions and do not pressure buyers to pay before they can verify the listing.
Buyer Responsibilities
- Inspect animals and items before paying when possible.
- Do not send deposits to unknown sellers without understanding the risk.
- Ask for records, labels, registration papers, health paperwork, or butcher details when they matter.
- Follow your local laws for pickup, transport, resale, and food handling.
Moderation
- Homesteading Compass may remove, pause, or review listings that appear unsafe, misleading, illegal, or reported by users.
- Reports do not guarantee immediate action, but they help keep the marketplace safer.
- Repeated unsafe, dishonest, or abusive behavior may lead to loss of marketplace access.
Not a Party to the Sale
- Homesteading Compass helps buyers and sellers connect, but the actual sale is between the buyer and seller.
- The app does not inspect items, certify sellers, guarantee animal health, verify legal compliance, or process payment for Trading Post listings.
